Joanne Thibadeau

Joanne Thibadeau has been teaching violin for 30+ years! She's a native Ithacan and even studied violin at Ithaca High School with Sandy Reuning - don't do the math! She did her Suzuki training with Sandy and Joan Reuning and also Judy Bossuat-Gallic.

In addition to teaching, which she loves, Joanne works as Co-Director of the summer Ithaca Suzuki Institute at Ithaca College. She also works in the office at ITE doing a potpourri of things including serving as registrar for the school and facilities liaison with Ithaca College.

Joanne is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, SUNY at Potsdam. She has taught public school in upstate and downstate NY districts but found her niche here at ITE.

Before moving back to Ithaca Joanne was Publicity Director at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, summer home of the NYC Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra, in Saratoga Springs NY.  In years past she has performed in a variety of free-lance professional settings and also had her own violin studio in Troy, NY.

She has two sons, two grandchildren and two mini-Dachshunds!
